Tencent Cloud
Tencent Cloud is Tencent's international public cloud arm, offering compute, storage, CDN, gaming backend, and AI services with strong coverage across Asia.
What is Tencent Cloud?
Tencent Cloud is the cloud infrastructure arm of Tencent, the Chinese technology conglomerate behind WeChat, QQ, and one of the world's largest gaming portfolios. The cloud division benefits from Tencent's position as a major internet platform in its own right — the infrastructure that handles WeChat's billions of messages and moments, Honor of Kings' global player base, and Tencent Video's streaming traffic has been hardened at a scale that few cloud providers can match as a reference workload. International customers access Tencent Cloud primarily for its game hosting capabilities, its video CDN reach in Asia, and as a gateway for businesses entering the Chinese market.
The platform's international footprint spans regions across Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe, and South America. The Chinese domestic network — where Tencent has built and operates significant private fibre infrastructure — provides high-bandwidth connectivity between domestic data centres, while international regions connect through a mix of Tencent's own submarine cable investments and commercial peering. Managed services — Tencent Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Object Storage, TencentDB for MySQL and Redis, and others — run on this regional infrastructure with the same availability zone structure as competing hyperscalers.
Service incidents at Tencent Cloud produce failure patterns typical of large cloud platforms. Elastic compute instance failures affect workloads in a specific zone while other zones remain healthy. COS object storage returning high error rates disrupts any service using Tencent Cloud's managed storage layer. API gateway and load balancer incidents cut off traffic to backend compute that is itself fully operational. For gaming customers in particular, CDN and network latency incidents are the most impactful failure type — even a few hundred milliseconds of additional round-trip time makes real-time multiplayer games unplayable without causing any visible error in monitoring dashboards.
Outage.gg monitors Tencent Cloud service status through community reports from developers and enterprises. If compute is unreachable, object storage is returning errors, or CDN latency has spiked, the live status page shows current impact from the Tencent Cloud user community.
Common Tencent Cloud Problems
Issues users most frequently report when Tencent Cloud is having problems.
Service unavailability
API calls are failing, dashboards are unreachable, or the service is returning 5xx errors.
Slow performance / high latency
Response times are significantly above normal, causing timeouts and degraded user experience.
Authentication failures
API keys, OAuth tokens, or SSO logins are being rejected unexpectedly.
Data sync & storage issues
Files, databases, or synced data are not updating, missing, or inaccessible.
