1. Who We Are

Outage.gg is a free, community-driven outage tracker for live-service games and online platforms. We are not affiliated with any of the game publishers or services we monitor. References to “we,” “us,” or “Outage.gg” refer to the operators of this website.

2. Information We Collect

Outage Reports

When you submit an outage report, we record the service you reported, the approximate time of submission, and optionally your country and region (derived from your IP address for geographic accuracy). We do not store your full IP address beyond the instant of the request. Reports are anonymous by design — we have no way to link a report back to an individual.

Account Data

If you choose to create an account (via Google or email), we store your email address and a hashed authentication token provided by our auth provider (Supabase). We do not store passwords in plain text.

API Waitlist

If you sign up for API update emails, we store your email address along with a confirmation status and an unsubscribe token. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage (page views, referrers, device types). These tools may use cookies or similar identifiers. We do not use this data to build individual user profiles or sell it to third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To compute and display real-time outage status for the services you care about.
• To send you developer API launch notifications (only if you opted in).
• To improve the site through aggregate analytics and usage patterns.
• To moderate service suggestions submitted through the suggestion form.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies & Tracking

Outage.gg uses minimal cookies. Your theme preference (dark/light) is stored in your browser's local storage. If you are logged in, a session cookie is set by our authentication provider. Google Analytics may set its own cookies as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

Outage reports older than 30 days are automatically purged from our database. Account data is retained until you request deletion. API waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. For EU/EEA residents, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children's Privacy

Outage.gg is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance.
